The Welingkar Group of Management Development & Research, also known as the We Schools or WGMDR, is a private institute that offers the Post Graduate Diploma in Management programin various fields in the stream of Management.

The Welingkar Group has two campuses or colleges under it; one is in Mumbai and the other one in Bangalore. The Mumbai campus is called as the We School Mumbai whereas the Bangalore campus is known as the We School Bangalore.

The Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research Mumbai (WIMDR-M) was founded and established in the year 1977. The We School Mumbai is one of the few B-Schools whose correspondence courses or Distance Learning Programs (DLPs) have been recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), which is a body of the Central Government of India.

Both the We Schools, in Mumbai and Bangalore, are affiliated with the University of Mumbai in Mumbai and the AICTE and the NBA approve all their offered courses.

The We School Mumbai is ranked under the 100th position under the Top 100 B-Schools in India according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which is conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources Development.

It has the 16th position under the Top Private B-Schools category on the national level conducted by the Outlook Business School Survey.

Admission Process

  1. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be in possession of a bachelor’s or graduate degree with a minimum of 50% of marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) scored in that exam. There are certain relaxations for applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Person with Disability (PwD) categories.

Candidates who wish to get admitted into any of the courses offered by the We Schools in Mumbai or Bangalore need to undertake any of the following examinations and need to secure minimum marks in those for qualification:

  • Xavier Aptitude Test – XAT
  • Agricultural Technology Management Agency – ATMA
  • Common Management Admission Test – CMAT
  • Graduate Management Admission Test – GMAT
  • Maharashtra Common Admission Test – MAH CET
